History: The first academic library in Keyser was located in the Administration Building in 1901. The building burnt in April 1917. In 1919, a new Administration Building was completed and the library was housed on the first floor. The Library remained in the Administration Building until moved to its new building in 1961. On October 16, 1976, the Library was dedicated to long-time Library Director (1937-1973) Mary Fravel Shipper. Renovations completed during 2007-2008 resulted in a new elevator, flooring, and furniture. Currently, the Academic Success Center is located in the Library as well as the Teaching and Learning Commons-Keyser Affiliate. Students, faculty, and staff at Potomac State College are part of the West Virginia University (OneWVU) community.
